Digital property giants Animoca Brands and educational game leaders TinyTap announce the second series of their teacher-authored Publisher NFTs. On 15th December, 19:00 EST onwards, six new TinyTap publisher NFTs are going up for auction on OpenSea. So what exactly are these Publisher NFTs? Read on to learn more!
A TinyTap Publisher NFT grants holders co-publishing rights to their curated courses. These are curated bundles of educational games made on the TinyTap platform. One educator (“teacher”) on TinyTap can make games about a specific subject. Moreover, Publisher NFT holders also share the benefits of co-publishing these courses. TinyTap teachers already earn their income via their published content on web2 frameworks, but web3 unlocks new ways and novel use cases for teachers to improve their earning opportunities.
The second genesis auction of six TinyTap Publisher NFTs on 15 December 2022 will run for 48 hours. Furthermore, participation requires a crypto wallet compatible with OpenSea. Interested buyers can join the auction at OpenSea. 50% of the net proceeds from the auction of the Publisher NFTs go to participating teachers. These sales link to the Courses that teachers publish on TinyTap. Moreover, they also receive a 10% ongoing share of any revenue generated by the courses. In addition to this, Publisher NFT buyers receive up to 80% of any revenue generated by their NFTs’ courses as a result of their promotional efforts.
Yat Siu, the co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, commented: “The success of the first TinyTap Publisher NFT auction demonstrated that NFTs can be leveraged to benefit teachers and educational content creators. We look forward to the upcoming second auction this week as we continue to work on developing this novel use case for NFTs in 2023 and beyond.”
TinyTap is a subsidiary of Animoca Brands. Founded in 2012, it is the world’s largest educational games library with more than 200,000 activities made by educators and publishers. Some of these games and courses also include Sesame Street and Oxford University Press. TinyTap creates its games via a code-free authoring platform. Parents can access this can as part of TinyTap’s subscription, or families can purchase them directly as bundles.
A portion of subscription revenue spreads across content creators based on the user engagement generated by their content. The platform is the top 10 grossing kids’ apps worldwide. Finally, TinyTap serves over 8.2 million families, with content created by over 100,000 educators.
