Mount Hotels is partnering with Beyond Imagination Technologies (BIT), a blockchain solutions startup, to introduce unique NFT souvenirs for the property’s guests. The tokens, a first in the hospitality domain, have been conceived of as a way of rewarding long-time patrons of the 4-star luxury brand.

In fact, as hotels and resorts seek innovative ways to grow their customer base and increase revenues post-Covid, such blockchain-based initiatives are likely to form a key part of their future strategy. Souvenirs issued as non-fungible tokens (NFT) can be likened to loyalty badges, and seen as an update of the loyalty programmes of years past that airlines and hotels offered their customers. With BIT breaking new ground, expect NFT mementos to be trending very soon.

Speaking about the collaboration, Nikhil Goyal, founder, Beyond Imagination Technologies, said, “The way hotels connect with their guests has changed in the wake of the pandemic, and it will continue to evolve. I believe that the idea of offering NFT souvenirs as a reward for customer loyalty is something that will catch on, as hotels and resorts—whether standalone or part of a chain—look to retain old customers and win new ones. Mount Himalayan Hotel & Spa is already a fantastic place with great views, and these NFT souvenirs will only add to its attraction.”

Sharing thoughts,Sachin Agarwal, founder, Mount Hotels, said “Apart from the pride of being associated with something new in the hospitality space, we at Mount Hotels are always looking to keep up with the times, and to make our patrons feel very special. I think the NFT souvenirs will add to the experience we already offer, but from the perspective of the industry, they come with game-changing potential. We look forward to surprising our guests with these tech-enabled incentives!”
