The Comeback: Today’s Top Sports Stories & Reactions

NIL has found another wrinkle: NFT trading cards.
It’s a new day and age in the world of college sports with NIL, as it’s allowed players to make money off their names, images, and likenesses. One way is by working with NFT trading card company Prospex, which is releasing cards for college football recruits.
According to On3, one notable recruit who joined the company is Jurrion Dickey. Dickey is a five-star talent who committed to Oregon last year. However, Prospex released three different cards for Dickey from three different schools.
Peter Warren of On3 wrote, “Dickey put up three trading cards – Oregon, the school he has been committed to since May, Tennessee, and Penn State.”
5-star WR @JurrionDickey has set Tennessee, Penn State, and Oregon as his 3 trading cards on the new @MyProspex NIL marketplace.
Dickey will collect 85% of the revenue on the card for which school he enrolls at👀

The report also added details on the payout distribution. Warren wrote, “When a player commits and enrolls at that school, fans who bought the card will receive a physical or web3 collectible version of the card. Fans of schools who lost the recruitment battle can turn the card in and receive 85% of their money back.”
So, that’s another wrinkle for NIL as it wades into the world of NFTs. Is that a good approach given the cryptocurrency crash that occurred recently? Well, that might not be up for any of us to decide yet.

The Raiders are somehow 0-4 with double-digit leads at halftime this season.
“I’m just happy raiders fans finally got the true Jerry Tillery experience”
What a debut for Baker Mayfield.
This Rams team is absolutely imploding.
“Ballhandler stepped out of bounds at halfcourt and shooter was out of bounds — horrible.”
Derek Carr would love to have this pass back.
