Indian music composer, Ilaiyaraaja, is launching NFTs on June 2nd. Fans of Ilaiyaraaja will be able to purchase the NFTs on the WishWorld platform without having to open a crypto wallet, like Metamask.
Music fans and fans of Ilaiyaraaja will be able to get their hands on the NFTs of the renowned music composer. Interestingly, the first set of these is due to launch on the musician’s birthday, June 2nd, on the WishWorld platform.
Beyond this first drop, WishWorld may look at creating more common drops of the musician’s NFTs.
WishWorld is a music and entertainment NFT marketplace. It was created by Aquilliz (blockchain solutions provider) and One Mercuri (celebrity management firm). Through the firm, you get to interact with your favourite artists, get exclusive access to their new work, and more.
The company claims that the “possibilities are endless”. Until now, there has not been so much information about the platform, but on their website, you can sign up for their waitlist and will be provided details.
Ilaiyaraaja is an Indian film composer, conductor, arranger, singer and lyricist who works in the Indian film industry. According to many, he is one of the greatest Indian music composers. Throughout his career, he has composed more than 7,000 songs, provided film scores for over 1,400 movies, and has performed in over 20,000 concerts.
Ilaiyaraaja is nicknamed ‘Isaignani’ (musical genius) and is also often referred to as ‘Maestro’, by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London, amongst others.
The 78-year-old has been involved in several genres including classical, folk, rock and jazz. In addition, he has sung vocals, as well as played the guitar, keyboard, harmonium, flute, organ, piano, violin and cello. He certainly has had an esteemed career since his start in 1976, which was over 45 years ago.
His work in the last 40 years has placed him in great company among the world’s richest composers.
