Amber International Raises $25.5M to Expand $100M Crypto Reserve Strategy
Amber International Holding (AMBR), a subsidiary of crypto trading firm Amber Group, successfully secured $25.5 million in a private placement. This funding round, announced Thursday, will bolster the company’s $100 million Crypto Ecosystem Reserve, a strategic fund aimed at fostering growth within various blockchain networks. The placement involved the issuance of over 12 million Class A shares, equivalent to approximately 2.44 million American Depositary Shares (ADSs), listed on Nasdaq. Shares were priced at $10.45 each, representing a 5% discount to the three-day volume-weighted average trading price.
Notable investors participating in the round include Pantera Capital, CMAG Funds, and Kingkey Financial International, highlighting confidence in Amber International’s strategy. Launched earlier this year, the Crypto Ecosystem Reserve initially focused on Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). This latest funding injection expands the reserve’s holdings to include Binance Coin (BNB), Ripple’s XRP, and Sui (SUI).
Amber International’s approach involves strategic collaborations with developers and protocols operating on these networks. The firm provides capital, liquidity, and potential product support, solidifying its position within the blockchain ecosystem. This strategic investment aligns with the increasing institutional demand for real-world asset tokenization and innovative applications such as AgentFi, a platform leveraging smart contracts to automate financial services.
The move underscores a growing trend among crypto-native companies, focusing on building robust treasury strategies to strengthen balance sheets and promote long-term innovation. This proactive approach is particularly relevant in the current climate, characterized by reduced venture capital investment and more cautious funding cycles. By actively supporting promising projects and technologies, Amber International aims to maintain its leadership in the evolving cryptocurrency landscape. The success of this funding round showcases investor confidence in Amber International’s vision and its strategic role in the broader blockchain ecosystem.
