Anthony Pompliano’s ProCap Appears Better Than Peers Based on the BTC HODLer’s Own Data

Anthony Pompliano’s ProCap, a significant player in the Bitcoin market, recently announced a major development: a $1 billion business combination agreement with Columbus Circle Capital Corp 1 (CCCM). This strategic move signifies a substantial investment in Bitcoin, solidifying ProCap’s position within the cryptocurrency landscape.

The deal involves ProCap raising over $750 million, a significant portion of which—over $500 million—has already been allocated to acquiring Bitcoin. This has resulted in a substantial Bitcoin treasury of 4,950 BTC, making ProCap the 13th largest publicly held Bitcoin treasury globally. This aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy underscores ProCap’s strong bullish sentiment towards the cryptocurrency.

Pompliano’s analysis, based on implied multiple Net Asset Value (mNAV) premiums, reveals a compelling investment opportunity. ProCap’s stock currently trades at the lowest implied mNAV premium among its peers, at 1.3x, compared to companies like Cantor Equity Partners (CEP) at 2.2x. This valuation discrepancy suggests that ProCap BTC LLC might be undervalued relative to other Bitcoin treasury firms.

A key feature of the CCCM business combination is the redemption right offered to CCCM shareholders. Shareholders of record at the time of the special meeting to approve the combination will have the option to redeem their shares for the cash held in trust. Based on CCCM’s May IPO closing, this pro rata trust value is projected to be approximately $10 per share. Pompliano estimates the maximum potential loss for investors at roughly 55 cents per share, assuming the trust value remains around $10.

However, the potential upside is significant. If ProCap’s implied mNAV premium were to rise and align with Cantor Equity Partners’ 2.2x multiple, the post-deal stock price could potentially reach approximately $17.82 per share. This scenario highlights the potential for substantial returns for investors who believe in ProCap’s strategy and the future of Bitcoin. Recent news indicates ProCap continues its Bitcoin acquisition strategy, purchasing an additional $128 million in BTC over two consecutive days, further reinforcing its commitment to the asset. The combination of strategic acquisitions and a potentially undervalued stock makes ProCap a noteworthy development in the Bitcoin investment space.
