Crypto Trading Firm Galaxy Expands Institutional Staking With Fireblocks
Galaxy Digital, a prominent cryptocurrency trading firm, is significantly expanding its institutional blockchain staking platform through a new partnership with Fireblocks, a leading crypto custody specialist. This collaboration makes Galaxy’s staking services directly accessible to over 2,000 of the world’s largest financial institutions already utilizing Fireblocks’ secure custody solutions. These institutions can now seamlessly stake digital assets directly from their Fireblocks vaults.
The integration is a key development in the burgeoning institutional adoption of cryptocurrency staking. Staking, a process that involves locking up crypto assets to validate transactions on a blockchain network and earn rewards, is gaining significant traction, particularly within a supportive regulatory environment. The increased institutional interest underscores the growing maturity and acceptance of cryptocurrencies within the traditional finance sector.
Galaxy Digital currently manages approximately $2.3 billion in staked crypto assets, demonstrating the substantial scale of its operations. This partnership with Fireblocks marks Galaxy’s third custodial integration this year, following successful collaborations with Zodia Custody and BitGo. This strategic approach highlights Galaxy’s commitment to providing secure and efficient staking services to its institutional clientele.
Zane Glauber, head of blockchain infrastructure at Galaxy, emphasized the significance of the Fireblocks integration. He stated that it represents a major advancement in Galaxy’s mission to provide institutions with convenient access to secure and capital-efficient staking solutions, directly within their existing custody infrastructure. The streamlined process removes friction, making participation in staking more accessible and attractive for large-scale investors.
This development strengthens Galaxy Digital’s position as a leading provider of institutional-grade crypto services. By leveraging Fireblocks’ extensive network and robust security features, Galaxy is positioning itself to capture a greater share of the expanding institutional staking market. The combined expertise and reach of both firms promise to accelerate the broader adoption of staking among institutional investors.
