Daniel Arsham + The Shoe Surgeon bring 4 unique designs to life for his latest exhibit, “Le Modulor du Basketball”in Marseilles, France.
Hand-crafted in Downtown Los Angeles, The Shoe Surgeon team sourced and reconstructed four classic Jordans. The Air Jordan 1, 3, 7 and 8 were reimagined by the Arsham Studio team with each design tying back to the famous Le Corbusier’s Unite d’habitation, home to the exhibit.
Every detail mirrors key elements of the building, utilizing premium grey materials of leather and suede that were carefully selected to emulate the rough, concrete structure. A mosaic of primary colors are hinted throughout each, reminiscent of the building’s interior painted balconies. Each vibrant color was precisely hand-painted on, alongside custom-made heel tabs on the 3 and 7 models.
The 4 one-of-a-kind wearable sculptures are now on display for the “Le Modulor du Basketball” exhibit at Ora-Ito’s at MArseille MOdular (MAMO) in Marseilles.
