ICP Falls 2.4% Despite Bullish Reversal From Sub-$5 Levels

Internet Computer’s ICP token experienced a volatile 24-hour period, ultimately closing down 2.4% at $5.08 after an initial decline from $5.21. Despite this negative movement, the token demonstrated notable intraday resilience. The session began with a dip to a low of $4.97, triggering a significant buying response. This surge in buying pressure fueled a 3.2% recovery, pushing ICP to a high of $5.13 before settling near $5.08. The overall price swing of 3.52% reflects a battle between bearish and bullish forces.

A key factor in the price rebound was a substantial increase in trading volume. Around 05:00 UTC, volume spiked to 524,622 tokens, a 56% increase over the 24-hour average of 337,329 tokens. This volume surge coincided with a decisive shift in market sentiment. Buyers actively defended the $4.97–$5.00 support level, while sellers encountered resistance at the $5.09–$5.13 range. This period of increased activity proved pivotal in shaping the day’s price action.

Further analysis reveals that the price increase occurred during the U.S. morning trading hours. Between $5.02 and $5.06, ICP gained 0.80% on elevated volume. The successful breach of the $5.03–$5.04 resistance level signaled renewed bullish momentum. This successful break established a new support level around $5.04. The interplay between support and resistance levels, coupled with significant volume fluctuations, highlights the dynamic nature of ICP’s price movement. The data suggests a consolidation phase, with the potential for further price fluctuations depending on the interplay of buying and selling pressure in the coming days. The key support level now sits at approximately $5.04, while the resistance cluster remains around $5.09–$5.13.
