Paige VanZant is a lot of things; she’s a model, a wrestler for AEW, a fighter for UFC/Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, a former participant on Dancing with the Stars, and a member of American Top Team.
Well, VanZant can now add “tech innovator” to her long list of accolades, as she just dropped a first-of-its-kind series of NFTs that could revolutionize the industry if it catches on.
Designed to be used with a Quest 2 VR headset, the NFTs are fully interactive 3D videos where viewers can zoom in, “spin me around” – whatever that means – and explore the shoot location in a way typical non-fungible tokens or the pop art monkeys typically associated with them don’t allow. The NFTs will also include a subscription to VanZant’s exclusive content fan page and can be purchased with ethereum, which, according to her official announcement, is the second-most popular cryptocurrency.

Confusing? Maybe a little bit but hey, if you ever wanted to own a video of PVZ playing skee-ball, this might be your best opportunity.
In the world of professional combat sports, being good in the ring/octagon isn’t enough anymore to be a global star. Sure, it helps, as does a strong push from a promotion, but performers the world over have found that creative usage of social media can prove just as impactful and help to grow and eventually monetize a fanbase hungry for every bit of content they can consume from their favorite stars. Though her impressive social media following won’t guarantee the success of Paige VanZant’s NFT drop, who knows, maybe she’ll catch lightning in a bottle and revolutionize the industry in the process.
