The intersection of NFTs with copyright law—such as the application of legal doctrines, creation and transfer of rights, and implications for online infringement enforcement—was the focus of a US Copyright Office roundtable Tuesday that will inform an interagency study on NFTs.
Attorneys, academics, and copyright advocates generally agreed the core of copyright law applied to non-fungible tokens as with any other medium. But they also raised a number of foundational questions and practical concerns from different perspectives that could affect the resolution of an array of conflicts.
