The housemates are Ethereum-based NFT avatars that would be seen adjusting to real settings in the series. Similar to TV reality shows, fans can root for their favorites as they become friends, fight, make mistakes and much more activities that shape the storyline.
Fans can also buy a producer pass NFT which will offer them interactive features plus their NFT characters could also make a cameo in the show. Using these NFT passes, fans will be able to help shape the content of the show.
The R3al Metaverse is released by Invisible Universe, a tech startup. Invisible Universe’s backers include Seven Seven Six, the VC firm from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian who also owns the show’s Bored Ape character Pete.

Tricia Biggio, CEO of Invisible Universe explains that it’s an Internet-first animation studio. The first six episodes of the 34-episode short-form series are available across, Twitter, Discord, YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, and the project website. Two episodes will be released each week with each episode ranging from one to two minutes.
The series will also have a second season. For Season 2, Producer Pass Holders can submit characters from any character-based NFT they hold, as long as the character is from a licensable community.
It’s an attempt to conceptualize NFTs, the individual communities, and the metaverse so anyone can understand web3 on the platforms where the majority of the audiences are.
Invisible Universe has demonstrated an ability to develop this fresh show in an egoless way, involving the community to incorporate what they love and want to see more in the stories, says Biggio.
