The MiamiWeb3 Summit today announced a new list of high-profile speakers including leading figureheads such as Tim Draper, founding partner at Draper Associates, Bill Kramer, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Chuck Mounts, Chief DeFi Officer at S&P Global Ratings and John D’Agostino, senior advisor at Coinbase Institutional, and Kristin Smith, executive director of Blockchain Association.
The summit, taking place from Nov 29-30, focuses on the institutional and policy aspects of Web3, blockchain and crypto ecosystems. Organised by the City of Miami and Web3 infrastructure provider, Atlas and its parent company CTH Group, MiamiWeb3Summit will feature thought leaders who will explore Web3 trends across the economy, business, and society.
The keynote speeches kick off in the morning of Nov 29 with “Macro Takes” as speakers from government, traditional finance and Web3 discuss their views on the state of the industry and where they see opportunities for future growth, covering the regulatory, financial and technological aspects. Participants will get to hear the views of Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami, Cynthia Lummis, U.S. Senator of Wyoming, Derek Devens, managing director and senior portfolio manager at Neuberger Berman.
In the afternoon, Anthona Bassili, head of asset allocators at Coinbase Institutional, Joel Edgerton, head of americas enterprise at Ledger and Alex McDougall, CEO of Stablecorp will take attendees beyond crypto as they give insights on the institutional DeFi landscape.
The morning of Nov 30 starts with “Web2 to Web3” as participants are led through emerging Web3 technologies by industry leaders such as Tim Draper, founding partner of Draper Associates, Trevor Owens, managing partner at Stacks Ventures and Brittany Laughlin, executive director of Stacks Open Internet Foundation.
In the afternoon, speakers and panelists including Sandy Carter, SVP & Channel Chief at Unstoppable Domains, David S. Bennahum, CEO of Ready Games and more break down various Web3 innovations including DAOs, NFTs and GameFi.
Miami has been making waves in the Web3 space, with the launch of MiamiCoin, last August, and the inaugural Miami NFT Week this April, fueled by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez’s popularity among venture capitalists, startups and tech companies.
In July, Mayor Francis Suarez announced that the City of Miami will drop a collection of 5,000 Ethereum NFTs designed by 56 local Miami artists, TIME, Mastercard and Salesforce.
