Darkblock has unveiled its latest partner, Monark Market . Monark Market is an NFT marketplace which has been explicitly designed from the ground up to tailor towards the purchase, sale, and exchange of digital assets meant for use in the metaverse.
Let’s take a closer look!
Monark Market and Darkblock
According to this Darkblock blog post, Michael Shoup, the CEO of Monark Market, was in the process of developing his own back-end code for Monark Market – one that would allow creators to protect their intellectual property when selling on the marketplace, as well as help consumers download and upload the digital assets into a metaverse of their choice.
However, Michael then stumbled upon Darkblock, who have already spent a long time developing dedicated code for NFTs and digital unlockables. As mentioned by Michael Shoup in the blog:
The idea here is we want to enable artists to be able to create in whatever fashion they like. We want them to know their IP is protected, deliver the assets in a cool way, and finally pull that into metaverses and other software like games without having to require the users to download. It would simply be there in their metaverse.
Monark Market has already successfully integrated Darkblock’s protocol into its platform. So now, creators on Monark Market can take full advantage of the protocol and encrypt and attach their digital assets to NFTs in the form of digital unlockables.

Metaverse Party Pack NFT
In order to showcase the collaboration and celebrate it, Darkblock created the Metaverse Party Pack NFT . It is a free NFT that lives on the Polygon blockchain and includes a bundle of digital assets. Specifically, included in the bundle are:
A Disco Ball
Party Lights
A DJ Stand
A Black Skybox
A major benefit of using Darkblock is the ability to add more digital unlockables to the NFT at a later stage, even after minting it. As seen in Monark Market’s Metaverse Party Pack description: “Further files may be added to this Darkblock collection later, at which date this description will be updated.”
Going forward
According to the blog post, Monark Market is looking at delivering assets to many different locations – eg Unity, and different metaverses. Additionally, Darkblock is planning on facilitating various different monetization models for creators on Monark in the future, including content rental and subscriptions.
What is Darkblock?
Darkblock enables creators to distribute and monetise their content in a Web3 native way. Using Darkblock, creators can encrypt, permanently store, and immutably attach multimedia content to their NFTs that’s only available to holders — comic books, movies, music, e-books, podcasts, or 3D metaverse assets. Whether it’s through sales, ad revenue or rentals, Darkblock aims to guarantee the flow of income to creators by letting them hold the keys to their content.
