Bridging the gap
BROOKLYN —Brooklyn-based artist Pierre Jean-Baptiste had been wanting to get into the world of non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, for a while, but wasn’t sure about the right way to join.
Then, Hope for Haiti invited him to contribute to Hope Endures. The poverty reduction organization’s collection of NTFs aims to raise money to rebuild two schools in Haiti damaged after the 2021 earthquake, so Jean-Baptiste was convinced to join.
“I wanted it to be very organic and thoughtful,” said Jean-Baptiste, “and not just me going in that space just to get a money grab.”
