In this upcoming ‘war-to-earn’ game powered by NFTs, two decentralized autonomous organizations compete strategically for revenue.
An upcoming blockchain game has revealed when it will launch.
Reta Wars is going to be available to players from Oct. 3 — and the project says it’s determined to usher in a new era of GameFi.
It’s a strategy “war-to-earn” game powered by NFTs, where two decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) compete strategically for revenue.
The game involves using NFT heroes to grow territory, concocting compelling strategies with fellow players, and leading their faction to victory.
Each NFT hero will have the ability to produce resources on command, or fight enemies in battle — and they’ll be a crucial component of the cleverly named “Retaverse.”
The launch of Reta Wars will be preceded by a pre-open sale for NFT heroes, which will be sold at discounted prices for one week from Sept. 26.
Those behind Reta Wars say they have taken great care to build a sustainable ecosystem — a marked departure from previous play-to-earn games that had unsustainable tokenomics.
Reta Wars has been put through its paces during a beta stage, which achieved a retention rate of more than 60%. What’s more, approximately 80% of participants had positive feedback for the game.
Based in Japan, one of the centers of gaming excellence, Reta Wars is planning to make a splash at the Tokyo Game Show, which is taking place from Sept. 15-18. This event has built a reputation for being one of the world’s most famous, historic and influential gaming conferences since it launched in 1996.
It’s entered into a partnership with YGG Japan, the country’s largest GameFi guild, to perform a series of sessions and promotions about Reta Wars — educating enthusiasts about the title’s potential.
The game will initially be available in Japanese, but support for other languages will be quickly unveiled as Reta Wars begins to establish a global audience.
Reta Wars points to high retention rates and overwhelmingly positive feedback as proof that its product will be beloved by the community.
In an announcement outlining the official launch plan, the project said: “Numerous GameFi projects are flooding this market, but we all know it’s still rare to be ‘finished’ with a compelling outcome. Especially in a crypto bear market like today, it’s even more difficult to complete a great project. But we had strong convictions and skills, and a clear vision.”
Developers went on to criticize projects that focused too much on pre-marketing rather than actual outcomes that benefit the people who matter most: the gamers themselves.
Underpinned by a strong governance system, the team behind Reta Wars say this game is only the beginning — and it plans to add even more games to the ecosystem in time.
Staking, battle simulators, customizable skins, a bespoke marketplace and an expansion plan are all set to be unveiled by the end of this year — meaning there will never be a shortage of new content and features for players to look forward to.
