Timbaland, the famous music producer and artist, has a new music video featuring his NFT alter ego, CONGO. The wonderful and unique music video is the first music video that includes his Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT. Timbaland has built his career around innovation as a Grammy award-winning music icon. Now, he is exploring using his NFT in his music and introducing a character called CONGO.
The NFT song and video, “Has a Meaning” by Congo, aka Timbaland, had its official debut at the BAYC Ape Fest event during the NFT NYC event. Initially, Bored Ape #590, it has now taken on a life of its own, as the character CONGO by Timbaland.
This new alias is a massive coup for the BAYC community. Significantly, a considerable amount of musicians have found themselves owning Bored Apes. As one of the biggest and most popular NFT projects in the space, they are now taking on the real world.
Eminem and Snoop Dogg recently created a song called From The D 2 The LBC. The video also featured their own BAYC NFTs as characters like Timbaland.
The transformation of the BAYC NFT into a brand new media form is a huge moment for the Web3 industry. It proves that there is a market for NFTs beyond the metaverse.
To introduce CONGO to the world, Timbaland has assembled a remarkable team. One of the key players in the process is Web3 talent, Zayd Portillo. As the director of the first animated NFT music video for Timbaland, aka CONGO, it was essential to create something unique.
The song was produced by Timbaland, who involved himself in every step of the NFT music video process. One recorded, he partnered with Portillo to create the video using Unreal Engine, the groundbreaking 3D creation tool.
