A year after its debut NFT collection, Toys R Us is bringing its next edition of digital assets to Solana! The Toy company tweeted from its official NFT account last night to confirm the drop. Can NFTs be the second wind the company needs to chart the course for the next generation? Let’s find out!
As of the moment, there has been no announcement regarding drop dates, collection size, price, or other details. The latest Toys R Us Solana NFTs celebrated the occasion of its mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe’s birthday. The official tweet only reads “Hello Solana” on their NFT account.
Moreover, what we do know is that the NFT collection is brought to us as a partnership between Toys R Us and Anybodies NFT. Anybodies is a digital fashion agency that brings web3 experiences to life. Alongside the announcement tweet, their official account also tweeted “We’re so excited to be joining the Solana community!”. The company has previously released NFTs on other ecosystems but this is their first move into Solana. Our guess is as good as yours, but a digital Toys R Us clothing line paired with other cool stuff does not seem like a bad idea!
The twitter post also gave us a picture of Geoffrey the Giraffe celebrating his birthday. Other characters also appear in the image alongside a gift-wrapped letter “R”. Besides this, no other details were announced in the mysterious post.
Toys R Us is an American childrens toys and clothing retail megabrand. The company, founded in 1948, has deep nostalgic roots in American subculture. After declaring bankruptcy in 2018, the brand took a new turn to adapt to current generational trends. The brand has since recognized the potential of web3 and has dropped multiple NFT projects to promote their future-friendly approach.
