Former U.S. President Donald Trump arrives on stage to speak during an event at his Mar-a-Lago home on November 15, 2022 in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump announced that he was seeking another term in office and officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump announced earlier this week that he was going to make an “important announcement” with a made-for-television teaser claiming that “America needs a hero.”
Trump posted the teaser on Truth Social, his social media platform, leaving many wondering what’s next, maybe a new political venture?
Holy Crap! You can’t make this stuff up!

Here’s Trumps #MajorAnnouncement. Crazy Trump Digital Trading Cards / NFT Collection. Seems he needs some money. Talk about “Grifters” pic.twitter.com/6u9u9ARdt4
On Thursday, the former president of the U.S. shared an “important announcement” to the world with a series of digital trading cards with all the grandiosity of an action hero but all in a Trump type-theme. For $99, fans can purchase digital cards of Trump as a superhero and enter a chance to win a meeting with him at Mar-a-Lago.
The former 45th’s big announcement sounded more like a late-night 1990s infomercial, one tweet said. “Another Chessy grift.”
The announcement came off as a Trump roast, Fox News reported. Even Trump’s ally Steve Bannon condemned the digital card stunt, “I just can’t anymore,” according to CNN.
While the leading GOP leaders such as Rep. Jim Jordan, GOP leader Kevin McCarthy, Rep. Marjorie Green Taylor and Trump. Jr did not tweet comments on the new NFT cards, but all re-shared the identical talking posts and re-tweet messages of high inflation and usual commentary of trying to take Hunter Biden down.
After the lack of steam from Trump-endorsed candidates during the midterms and the negative public response towards his digital trading card venture- could this be the end of Trumpism? Or is Trump just being Trump? Here are a few tweets.

Trump supporter and known Capitol rioter Tim Gionet, who is facing prison over his role in the January 6 insurrection even had something to say on the former President’s announcement.
i can’t believe i’m going to jail for an nft salesman ?”
After his comment made the national news, Gionet, also known as “Baked Alaska”, make another Tweet using Trump’s political slogan against him.
“I wanted to make America great again but all I got was this s***** nft,” the Tweet read.

Despite the criticism by Trump allies and foes, according to Newsweek, the entire collection of 45,000 NFTs sold out, with nearly 14,000 people purchasing one or more.
