Bitcoin Traders Bet on Sub-$100K Slide: Crypto Daybook Americas

Crypto markets are experiencing volatility amid U.S. stagflation concerns. Polymarket data suggests a greater than 50% chance of Bitcoin (BTC) falling below $100,000 before the year’s end. This aligns with weak economic data, including manufacturing and services ISMs, signaling potential recessionary conditions despite persistent inflation. While lower interest rates might boost risk assets, current market sentiment leans bearish, with traders favoring short positions in Bitcoin. Options markets show a less pessimistic outlook than Polymarket for a sub-$100,000 Bitcoin by year-end.

Conversely, Ether (ETH) prospects appear brighter following SEC guidance clarifying that staking activities don’t constitute securities offerings. This could pave the way for spot ETH ETFs with staking, potentially increasing ETH’s appeal.
