Shiba Inu’s Bollinger Bands Tightest Since February 2024 After 5.8% Weekly Drop

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is exhibiting a significant technical pattern. Its weekly Bollinger Bands have tightened to their most constricted level since February 2024, signaling a potential period of consolidation preceding a substantial price swing. This classic technical indicator suggests accumulating energy for a significant upward or downward movement.

The band contraction follows a series of weekly price declines, culminating in a 13.8% drop to $0.00001160 last week—the most significant decrease since early March. However, the price has since stabilized and rebounded, trading above $0.00001200. Recent 24-hour performance shows impressive resilience, according to CoinDesk Research’s technical analysis.

A detailed examination of the 23-hour trading period between August 5th, 12:00 and August 6th, 11:00 reveals notable volatility. The price fluctuated within a range of $0.000003104, representing a 25.4% difference between the high of $0.000012217 and the low of $0.000011913.

The session began with a sharp correction from $0.000012362 to $0.000011985. The price then consolidated around the $0.000012000 support level before a notable recovery pushed it to $0.000012186 by the end of the period. This recovery indicates sustained buying pressure even during periods of price weakness.

The final hour, from 10:23 to 11:22 on August 6th, displayed strong bullish momentum. The price steadily climbed from $0.000012123 to $0.000012198, a 0.62% increase. This upward trend was supported by significant trading volume, exceeding 19 billion tokens during key breakout phases. A surge in volume around 11:07, coinciding with a brief test of support at $0.000012125 before the price continued its ascent, suggests substantial institutional involvement and the ability of SHIB to overcome key resistance levels. The overall picture suggests a potential upward breakout is imminent.
