This weekend, at the Austin City Limits music festival, American Express is releasing a collection of proof of attendance protocol (POAP) NFTs. The POAP NFTs feature artwork by the talented local artist Zuzu. This is the latest move by AMEX, who have previously dropped an NFT collection with the artist SZA. In fact, in March, they also registered numerous trademarks for the NFT and metaverse space.
So, what is the Austin City Limit POAP, and how can you claim your POAP NFT?
To create this NFT drop, American Express partnered with POAP, the open platform dedicated to helping developers create tokenized experiences that will exist forever on the blockchain. Furthermore, the drop at the Austin City Limits music festival will allow event attendees to receive up to six NFTs.
The festival occurs in Austin, Texas, between October 7th – 9th. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Paramore, P!nk, SZA, and Lil Nas X are among the massive lineup of artists at the event.
It is easy to claim the AMEX POAP NFTs, which are minted directly to an approved Web3 wallet. Alternatively, for those currently without an NFT wallet, the art pieces can go straight to email. This reserves the NFTs for a later date.
To get one of these incredible American Express POAP NFT art pieces by Zuzu, all festival goers need to do is scan a QR code at AMEX’s on-site activation. They can do this each day to claim different POAPs.
Finally, POAP NFTs are an excellent way for companies and events to create long-lasting memories. It uses the power of blockchain to create memorabilia that the holder can view anytime.
