After discovering that his developer was a scammer, artist Robness calls the Twitter NFT community for help. Significantly, the news appears to have surfaced last minute. Robness was due to drop his new PFP NFT collection ‘DESKTOP STATUE SYSTEMS LTD’ the next day.
Robness is a Californian artist known for his work in the NFT community. He has been involved in the space for many years.
Basically, he was one of the first artists to immerse themselves and take part in blockchain art. He recognised early on that NFTs and smart contract technology will disrupt the traditional art industry.
In fact, Robness has had massive success as an NFT artist. One of his most famous works, an animated trashcan, sold for a breathtaking $250,000.
In his typical ALL CAPS style of tweeting, Robness asked for help from NFT Twitter. He said,
“ATT: JUST FOUND OUT THE DEVELOPER THAT’S BEHIND THE PFP I’M DROPPIN IS A FUCKING SCAMMER. I’M LETTIN YALL KNOW CUZ THE DROP DATE IS TOMORROW. ANY DEV THAT’S ACTUALLY TRUE AND WILLING TO HELP ME DEPLOY, I’M ALL EARS RIGHT NOW OR I’M CALLIN’ IT OFF”
After calling on the community to help, it appears as though many people have offered their services. According to the artist, his NFT drop is now back on. He said, “UPDATE: LAUNCH OF MY PFP IS BACK ON SCHEDULE, THANKS @jeffthedunker FOR LITERALLY COMING IN ON A DAMN CRYPTO CHARIOT TO HELP.”
Finally, in what has been a difficult week for those in the NFT and Crypto community, the fact that Robness could get help straight away is proof of how helpful most people in the space are. Although Robness initially dealt with a scammer, he had several people keen to help when he identified the issue.
