Bitcoin Bull Mulls Different Kind of Corporate Treasury Strategy as Prices Continue on Hold

Figma’s IPO filing reveals a significant Bitcoin strategy, adding to the growing trend of corporate Bitcoin adoption. The design tool company, boasting $871 million in trailing twelve-month revenue and usage by 95% of Fortune 500 companies, disclosed $70 million in Bitcoin ETF exposure and board approval for a $30 million spot Bitcoin purchase.

This move is viewed as exceptionally bullish by industry commentators like Marty Bent, founder of TFTC and managing partner of Ten31. Bent highlights Figma’s strong performance and widespread adoption, emphasizing that this Bitcoin strategy is a significant positive signal, unlike many companies announcing Bitcoin treasury allocations without substantial underlying business. Figma’s integration of Bitcoin into its financial strategy suggests a growing acceptance of Bitcoin as a valuable asset among established, successful companies. Bent predicts a wave of similar disclosures from privately held companies going public in the next 12-18 months, ultimately making Bitcoin treasury holdings a standard practice for startups regardless of industry.

Despite significant buy pressure from corporations and the anticipation surrounding spot Bitcoin ETFs, Bitcoin’s price hasn’t seen the expected surge. However, a less-publicized factor is the substantial selling pressure from long-term holders realizing profits. Bitcoin analyst James Check estimates this selling pressure reached a peak of 40,000 BTC per day. The market’s ability to absorb this volume and remain above $30,000 (the article mistakenly states $107,000, likely a typo) is considered a highly bullish indicator, refuting theories of price manipulation through artificial Bitcoin creation. This resilience suggests underlying strength despite considerable selling pressure from long-term holders. The combination of corporate Bitcoin adoption and the market’s absorption of significant sell-offs signals a positive outlook for Bitcoin’s long-term prospects.
