BlackRock’s Spot Ether ETF Registers Record Trading Volume of 43M Amid Net Inflows of $158M

Ethereum’s native token, ether (ETH), experienced a significant surge on Wednesday, rising nearly 6%. This outperformance surpassed bitcoin (BTC), XRP, and Solana’s SOL, exceeding market expectations. The rally coincided with record-breaking trading activity in BlackRock’s spot ether exchange-traded fund (ETF), ETHA, listed on Nasdaq.

The trading volume for ETHA on Wednesday reached a remarkable high of over 43 million shares, marking the highest single-day volume since the fund’s launch a year ago. This represents a near-doubling of the previous day’s volume of 24 million shares, according to data from Yahoo Finance. This surge isn’t an isolated event; daily trading volumes have been steadily increasing for over a month. The 30-day average volume has climbed to a record high of 18.83 million shares, a significant increase from the 12.97 million shares observed in early June, as per TradingView data.

This heightened trading activity strongly suggests a robust bullish sentiment surrounding ether. The substantial increase in trading volume is further corroborated by a significant inflow of investor capital into the ETHA ETF. Since June, the ETF has attracted over $1.2 billion in investor funds. Tuesday alone witnessed a massive net inflow of $159 million, the highest single-day inflow since June 11, according to data from SoSoValue.

The confluence of record-high trading volumes and substantial capital inflows into the ETHA ETF paints a compelling picture of strong investor confidence in ether. This positive market sentiment, coupled with ETH’s outperformance against other major cryptocurrencies, indicates a potentially significant bullish trend for the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The sustained growth in trading activity and investor interest suggests a continued upward trajectory for ETH in the near future. The performance of ETHA serves as a key indicator of broader market sentiment and the growing institutional adoption of ether.
