Dan Tapiero Projects Crypto Economy Hitting $50T, Launches $500M Fund Under New Firm
Dan Tapiero, a prominent figure in digital asset investment, is unifying his private equity firms, 10T Holdings and 1RoundTable Partners, under a new entity: 50T. This rebranding reflects Tapiero’s revised market prediction for the digital asset ecosystem, projecting a $50 trillion valuation within the next decade.
The move builds upon the original vision of 10T, established in 2020, which anticipated a $10 trillion market cap for the digital asset sector within ten years, starting from a $300 billion base. The significant acceleration of growth, with the current market value already estimated at $5 trillion, prompted this upward revision. This outperformance underscores the rapid maturation of the digital asset space.
Tapiero points to recent successes as evidence supporting his long-term thesis. The substantial increase in Circle’s stock price following its initial public offering (IPO) last month, and Coinbase’s acquisition of Deribit for $2.9 billion in May, are cited as key examples. These events, alongside the recent IPO of eToro, highlight the growing maturity and investment appeal of the sector.
50T’s investment portfolio includes notable companies such as Circle, Deribit, and eToro, further validating its investment strategy. The firm’s existing portfolio companies are actively pursuing public listings, demonstrating a broader trend of increased institutional interest and market acceptance.
To further capitalize on this burgeoning market, 50T is concurrently launching a $500 million growth equity fund, known as 50T Fund. Structured as a closed-end fund with a ten-year investment horizon, it will focus on later-stage companies developing critical infrastructure for blockchain and Web3 technologies. The first closing of this fund is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. This new fund represents a significant commitment to the long-term growth potential of the digital asset ecosystem, reinforcing 50T’s optimistic outlook and strategic position within the industry.
