Web3 darling and NFT merchant DeadFellaz has inked a one-of-a-kind partnership with DraftKings.
The zombie-themed NFT brand, whose devotees are named “The Horde,” will produce a special set of 13 zombie-themed NFT football cards for DraftKings‘ blockchain-based Reignmaker fantasy football leagues.
“We are thrilled to be working with DraftKings on this collection,” DeadFellaz Co-Founders Betty & Psych said in a press release about the partnership. “We love building bridges from the Web3 space into other communities like fantasy sports fans. This collaboration with Reignmakers provides a strong opportunity to innovate and bring the value of Web3 to the fantasy sports industry.”
The cards will drop on October 25th in the DraftKings Marketplace, which is where Reignmakers buy and sell their Reignmakers NFT player cards.

DraftKings said that they’ll name additional players leading up to the October 25 drop date (“drop” refers to when a card or packs become available for purchase).
In theory, the drop should be successful because both DraftKings and DeadFellaz have devoted followers.
“Deadfellaz have established themselves as one of the most culturally relevant and impactful NFT projects in Web3 to date,” DraftKings North America President Matt Kalish said. “With this collaboration, we are connecting our communities to create a Reignmakers Football experience with a Deadfellaz twist that we believe you can’t get anywhere else.”
A typical Reignmakers player card includes a player headshot, their name, as well as their team name, position, and number. The card also shows the tier it’s in: Core is the base level, then Rare, Elite, Legendary, and Reignmaker.
Participants then use their cards to join fantasy contests. A card can only be used in one contest a week, and players cannot use their cards to play in a different tier. For example, managers can’t use a Core Tyreek Hill in an Elite contest.
New players get a free pack of six cards. The cards in the pack may include offensive and defensive players.
Managers then use the cards to enter fantasy contests. Also, they can purchase more cards by buying packs of cards or single cards.
Single Core cards are the cheapest cards on the marketplace, with most costing less than $30. Prices go up from there based on the card’s level, subset, and rarity. For example, there are numbered cards that increase their value. Cards that are 1-of-1s are considerably more than #/600 cards. A good example of this is a Tevin Coleman 1/1 Genesis, which is on the market for $1,250.
