Jim Jones and the Migos have taken a more innovative approach with their latest music video.
Following the release of their “We Set The Trends” remix — which now also features DJ Khaled, Juelz Santana, and Lil Wayne — the visual is dropping and it’s an NFT, REVOLT reports.
On June 2, the new NFT music video is set to premiere exclusively on Decentraland — an Ethereum blockchain-powered virtual world. According to the outlet, the platform will also be debuting its new digital movie theater with its sponsor Limewire.
While the music NFT experience is directed by EddieVisual and Yasha Gruben, it also features 15 visual artists. Among those involved in the visual are “Kidsuper, A$AP Rocky’s former creative director Robert Gallardo, artist Somehoodlum, hip-hop NFT expert Tilla Vision, BAYC animator Idrawanimation, Guy Bergman, and many more,” per the outlet.
In addition to exclusively watching the NFT video, the first 1,000 attendees will have the opportunity to get exclusive digital wearable, access to Whitelist Mint in June, and a ticket to the event in New York City for NFT week — all free of charge.
The “We Set The Trends” NFT video is the latest addition to how Jim Jones has been involved with the metaverse.
As previously shared by AfroTech, the rap veteran announced his new software company, Quarantine Studios — a metaverse music-recording platform.
In partnership with Jarman Hauser, Jones’ mission is to be a “one-stop-shop bringing artists services as they advance in their music career.”
“We provide all of the services that a record label provides for all artists, such as myself, no difference,” Jones said in an interview with CNBC. “So if you were looking for a publicist, marketing, video promo, radio promo, publishing — whatever department that you see fit from the record label side, we provide the services.”
He continued: “We can charge the fans the premium to come in the studio when we’re creating records. It’s so many things that we can go about doing this in. It’s bigger than just the music, you can do pretty much real business on this platform.”
