Crypto and NFT enthusiasts are no stranger to celebrities joining the digital landscape; however, the latest news regarding renowned rapper Kanye West and his interest in NFTs has become a hot topic of discussion in the community.
A tweet by trademark attorney Josh Gerben shows that the rapper filed 17 trademark applications that mention "blockchain-based currencies and non-fungible tokens" alongside a few other notable offerings such as amusement parks, online retail stores, plus more.
Despite that, Ye mentioned on Instagram earlier this year: "Do not ask me to do an NFT." So while there is no official announcement from the music icon on any detailed plans he has for the metaverse, the 1B intent-to-use trademark application teases that he could be preparing to expand his famous Yeezy brand from physical to digital.
