NEAR Protocol Surges 4% Amid Institutional Activity and Ecosystem Expansion

NEAR Protocol experienced significant growth between August 3rd, 3 PM and August 4th, 2 PM, showcasing a 4.20% increase, rising from $2.43 to $2.53. This surge was fueled by a substantial increase in trading volume, particularly during the final hour, which saw a remarkable 2.7 million tokens traded—more than double the daily average. This high-volume activity suggests a rise in institutional investment, supported by consistent accumulation and a decisive breakout surpassing key resistance levels.

The ecosystem’s development played a crucial role in NEAR’s price increase. Aurora Labs highlighted five early-stage startups from its Aurora Blocks Incubator, each developing EVM-compatible Virtual Chains on NEAR’s infrastructure. This demonstrates a robust and expanding development pipeline, highlighting the increasing demand for scalable and interoperable blockchain solutions within the NEAR ecosystem. Further bolstering NEAR’s momentum, Subzero Labs, a new company with former NEAR contributors, secured a $20 million funding round led by Pantera Capital. They are developing Rialo, a network designed to strengthen NEAR’s infrastructure.

Technical indicators strongly supported NEAR’s upward trend, especially in the final hour. A 1.80% increase from $2.48 to $2.53, fueled by a sharp move from $2.48 to $2.50 at 1:35 PM on high volume, broke through several resistance points, culminating in a surge past $2.53 just before the session’s close. This strong performance, with support confirmed at $2.47 and resistance at $2.53, suggests a potential continuation towards the $2.55-$2.60 price range.

The 24-hour trading session showed a total price range of $0.11, representing 4.48% intraday volatility. A notable breakout occurred at midnight on August 4th, with a price movement from $2.45 to $2.50 on a volume of 1,892,255 tokens, significantly above the 24-hour average of 1,299,394. High-volume resistance was confirmed at $2.50, with reliable support at $2.47. The final hour’s surge to $2.52, exceeding double the average volume, further solidified the bullish trend. The decisive breakout at 1:35 PM, with a price jump from $2.48 to $2.50 on a volume of 124,249 tokens, overcame consecutive resistance levels at $2.50, $2.51, and $2.52, culminating in a final push to $2.53. This positive momentum points towards a likely continuation towards the $2.55-$2.60 price zone.
