Recently, a $4 billion lawsuit has been filed against Yuga Labs, the blockchain start-up behind Bored Ape Yacht Club. They have been accused of using musicians, athletes, and celebrities to misleadingly promote and sell Yuga financial products.
The investor filed the lawsuits on Friday in California District Court. it involves many popular figures like Serena Williams, Stephen Curry, Kevin Hart, and Snoop Dogg. As more and more celebrities started to endorse NFTs, people became more interested in investing in them. This promotion helped generate billions of dollars in sales and re-sales through manufactured celebrity endorsements and misleading promotions.

The complaint states that the celebrity endorsement artificially increased the interest and value of the BAYC NFTs. These endorsements caused the prices of NFTs to skyrocket, and many people lost a lot of money when they invested in them. The lawsuit alleges that the celebrities knew that the investments were risky but promoted them, anyway.
