My African Dream (MAD) — a luxe travel company with head offices in Cape Town —  have announced a unique collection of Non-Fungible tokens (NFTs) that will unlock thousands of dollars in travel vouchers annually.
Backed by Manacor Investments, who also happen to own the leading industrial warehouse equipment manufacturing company in the Southern Hemisphere, buyers can expect something unique in terms of artistry. MAD NFTs are a celebration of the animal kingdom, while intrinsically industrial— a magical juxtaposition of two very different worlds.
For readers new to the world of NFTs, OpenSea is a marketplace similar to eBay or Amazon— only all the listed items are unique digital collectibles in the form of NFTs. Another point worth mentioning is that NFT values can fluctuate, and holders are able to buy and sell their digital assets at will
So what makes a smart NFT purchase that is likely to grow in value? Most will say it’s all about usability. And if the best NFTs unlock utility, how about a bucket list holiday every year for the rest of your life?
MAD’s NFT project has been designed to fit all types of travel— personal, corporate, team sports, or even professional gamers. With a range of budgets in mind, buyers can choose from 3 NFT categories: The Big 5 (Tier 1), The Cubs Club (Tier 2), and The Travelling Heard (Tier 3).
Much like the name suggests, Tier 1 will be a celebration of Africa’s Big Five: The lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo. A collection of world-class artists have been commissioned to create just one male and one female version of each of the Big Five, adding to their rarity and exclusivity. Not only will Tier 1 NFT holders have uncapped use of My African Dream’s wholesale travel discounts indefinitely, the top tier has also been structured to pay for an annual bucket list holiday— yes, you read that right. Diving with whale sharks in the Maldives? Sure. Or how about a weekend of snowboarding in Val Thorens? Nothing is off the table with a Big Five NFT.
Next on the list is The Cubs Club. A total of 25 NFTs will be minted, made up of five offspring for each of the big five. Only two differences separate Tiers 1 and Tier 2. Buy in will be half the price, and the annual travel voucher allowance will be halved— the rest is identical.
In the more affordable Tier 3, a Travelling Heard NFT is exclusive in its own right. A collection of 5000 Wildebeest will be minted in two stages: white listers and public sale. This NFT is all about access to wholesale pricing for holiday accommodation, as investors receive up to 40% off any listed property in Africa, indefinitely. The longevity of a Tier 3 NFT might surprise you, as with all three levels. Make it a family heirloom and pass it down — the utility will live on. Annual travel vouchers and discounts are also completely transferable —  to your family, your staff, or even your friends. As long as the transaction is authorized by the holder, the value and benefits can be transferred once a year at your discretion.
Whether you’re a crypto whale, first time buyer, avid traveller, or a forward thinking business owner; a MAD Traveller’s NFT could be the smartest ( and funnest ) step you take to diversifying your portfolio.
