In a bid to increase funds for its ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine’s government will accept donations and contributions in non-fungible tokens (NFTs). To offer these NFT purchases and donations, the government has introduced a new official website. The raised funding will directly reach the official ‘Aid for Ukraine’ crypto fund. Since the government took the initiative, a total funding amount of $60million has already been raised.
The cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and fiat got collected via the official fund that is being used to refurbish war supplies which includes the medical kits, weapons, bulletproof vests, eatables, medical gear, and some other expenses. In the last month, total expenses funded for the war had cost $45,103,538. Everstake, FTX, Kuna, and staking providers power the country’s crypto donation platform.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Vice President and Minister of Digital Transformation tweeted that all funds will contribute to the Ukrainian victory.
‘UkrainianCryptoFund’ collected the donated NFTs are now available to bid on the OpenSea Marketplace along with the NFTs from Cryptopunks, mFers, TIMEPieces, MoonCats, Chubbiverse Frens, CREYZIES, etc. The website has an Ethereum address for the donation part. Some of the collections that are supported by the government are Russia for Sale, where people can purchase Russian lands as NFTs; Holy Water, which supports Ukrainian NFT artists; and Doge in Ukraine.
Ukraine announced its own NFT collection in March, which is not listed on the latest website. The government has revealed that another NFT drop will be on May 1. The Ukrainian government has also launched a virtual gallery to showcase war memories.
On the contrary, citizens of both Russia and Ukrainian had to get accustomed to using cryptocurrencies to help themselves. Alex Bornyakov wrote on Twitter that Blockchain, cryptocurrency, and NFT won’t stop the missiles but will show a way to protect our defenders and rebuild Ukraine as an innovation-friendly country.
