Unity Wallet Taps NEAR to Launch AI Assistant and Web3 Tools
Unity Wallet, in collaboration with the NEAR Foundation, is significantly enhancing its user experience with the introduction of several new features powered by NEAR Protocol. This enhancement focuses on simplifying cryptocurrency interactions for both novice and experienced users, aiming to democratize access to self-custody solutions.
Central to these improvements is the upcoming launch of an AI-powered Assistant, scheduled for August. This AI Assistant will provide a conversational interface, allowing users to perform a range of tasks through simple text prompts. Users can check their balances, stake assets, and even find the most efficient routes for token swaps, all within the intuitive chat environment. This feature directly addresses the complexity often associated with managing cryptocurrency, translating technical processes into user-friendly interactions.
Beyond the AI Assistant, Unity Wallet has already integrated several key improvements. Support for NEAR staking has been added, providing users with a streamlined process for participating in the NEAR network’s consensus mechanism and earning rewards. The implementation of a wallet selector offers users increased flexibility, allowing them to seamlessly connect their preferred NEAR-compatible wallet.
A beta version of “intents” is also now available. This innovative feature allows users to specify their desired outcome – such as swapping tokens – and the system intelligently determines and executes the optimal strategy. This eliminates the need for users to navigate complex menus or understand the underlying technical details.
The partnership with the NEAR Foundation underscores the platform’s commitment to supporting AI applications on its blockchain. This collaboration reflects a broader trend towards integrating AI to make Web3 more accessible. As Unity Wallet COO James Toledano states, “Web3 shouldn’t require a manual.” The suite of new features, particularly the forthcoming AI Assistant, aims to fulfill this vision by simplifying everyday cryptocurrency actions and empowering users to confidently navigate the world of self-custody.
