Why ‘ETH Is Going to $10,000,’ Explains EMJ Capital Founder and President

Ethereum’s price is holding steady amidst a broader crypto market downturn, fueled by bullish predictions and significant institutional investment. EMJ Capital founder Eric Jackson anticipates a substantial price surge for ether (ETH), projecting a base case of $10,000 and a potential high of $15,000 by the end of the current market cycle. This optimism stems from the expected approval of ETH staking ETFs by October 2025, which Jackson believes will transform ETH into a yield-generating asset attractive to institutional investors.

Jackson’s analysis points to a confluence of factors contributing to a potential supply crunch. These include increased institutional demand spurred by staking approval, reduced circulating supply, passive investment flows from traditional finance, Ethereum’s deflationary tokenomics, rising layer-2 transaction fees, and the growth of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. He argues that Ethereum’s revenue-generating capacity undervalues the network, positioning it as a compelling institutional-grade yield product. He rejects the “digital oil” analogy, instead comparing Ethereum’s role to foundational platforms like Circle, Coinbase, Shopify, and Robinhood.

SharpLink Gaming’s recent announcement further bolsters the bullish sentiment. The company revealed it’s the world’s largest corporate holder of ETH, with approximately 280,706 ETH, largely actively staked. This aggressive acquisition strategy, coupled with Chairman Joseph Lubin’s vision to leverage Ethereum’s utility in decentralized finance, solidifies the company’s commitment to ETH as a primary treasury asset.

CoinDesk Research’s technical analysis shows high ETH volatility over a recent 24-hour period, with a trading corridor of $132.08. While initial bearish pressure led to a price dip, a significant surge in the final hour, characterized by high trading volume, indicates robust institutional positioning and a potential breakout beyond the $3,000 psychological barrier. This upward momentum, particularly a dramatic $36.23 increase within eight minutes, reinforces the positive outlook for ETH. The subsequent price consolidation suggests profit-taking, but the overall trend remains bullish.
